This week Yoko and I finished our annual training in Creative Cutting at the Vidal Sassoon Academy in San Francisco. Ahhhh…..San Francisco…probably one of our most favourite cities in the States! Nothing like being in one of the best cities AND being fully inspired artistically!!
We learned a large variety of techniques derived from some of the latest seasonal collections from the Sassoon Academy. So much learned and so greatly inspired!!! — We are extremely excited to offer these new ideas to our clients!! The beauty of these collection techniques is that they can be tweaked in so many different ways and used both for commercial looks as well as avant-garde. One of my favourite techniques now come from such collections as “Nu-Pop” (the top two pictures) and “The Group”(bottom half):
Love, love love…
Here are a few shots of us in our work sessions in our Creative Cutting class. The day usually starts off with a demo and a lecture by our instructor, Nhi Tran. The afternoon is devoted to working on individual models. Sometimes, we are lucky enough to get to work on models the entire day:
Here is a shot of our class this May. Only 5 students; but just the right number to get all the attention you need from the instructor!:
