Is it already that time of year??!!… whenever I fly to NYC to attend the IBS I suddenly realize how quickly time flies.
I usually like to fly in a day prior to the trade show so that I can relax and recuperate from my red-eye flight and spend time strolling and taking in the whole NY vibe. This year unfortunately I could not get a flight unless it were flying in the ‘day of’ the event. 7am Sunday morning: When I got to my usual hotel (which is only 10 min away from the Jacob Javits Convention Center) I begged to be checked in. Apparently early check-in was only feasible on one condition: If I pay an extra 25$US.
YES!!! I’LL TAKE IT!!
All refreshed and mentally sharper thanks to my nice clean room along with gulping down my big dose of ginseng tea, I headed over to the trade show. Nice sunny day…1C and ultra crisp!
When I reached the convention centre, my biggest disappointment was not having to wait in the longest queue I have ever been in; but when I found out to my dismay that the VIDAL SASSOON ACADEMY- a regular sponsor for this event – did not participate despite being assigned in the Exhibitor’s list! So much for flying across North America to attend this event ‘just’ to get the full 2 days of Sassoon Education!! ( I am a chronic Sassoon education fanatic…for those of you who don’t know me…)
Oh well…
So all I had to do this year was to check out the THOUSANDS of other artists and companies who were at the show and get inspiration from them!! 😉 That’s all!
Check out some shots I took of models and of well renown charismatic artists currently in the hair beauty world:
I greatly missed Sassoon Academy not being there. But overall I had a wonderful 2 days at IBS filled with inspiration and new knowledge.
